Annie Climan Obituary

On August 4, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Annie Leimomi Nauna Ina Ii Climan, 82, passed away as gently and peacefully as she had lived, surrounded by family who loved her as deeply as she loved them. Annie was born on September 15, 1938 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Charles Ii and Mae Low Ii. She met and married the love of her life, Robert Climan, and together they moved to Enfield, Connecticut. Annies greatest joy was her family. In addition to her husband, she leaves behind three daughters: Miriam Krieger Slen of Tolland, Lillian Climan of Vernon, and Dara Bowling of Willimantic. She is also survived by her grandchildren, whom she considered a blessing: Matthew Krieger, Rheba Schleicher, Jeremy Slen, Zachary Slen, Kayne Bowling, Hillary Bowling, Rebecca Bowling, Sarah Bowling, and Morgan Climan. She was a proud great-grandmother to Chloe Steph, Oliver Steph, Levi Slen, Lucas Gadwaw, and Maddox Schleicher. The third of eleven children, Annie is survived by her two remaining siblings: Harold Ii of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Lehua Ii-Michaelson of Waialua, Hawaii.

Annies life was characterized by aloha; her generosity and kindness knew no bounds. Her hands were always busy, whether she was crocheting hats for newborn babies in the neonatal unit, afghans for her fellow dialysis patients, or diaper covers for infants in other countries. She was gifted with plants, somehow managing to make them thrive when no one else could. Her smile could light a whole room, and she used that smile right til the last moments of her life, letting her family members know without a doubt that she loved them.

Should you wish to honor Annie, please consider sending a donation in her name to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
