Eileen Solomon Obituary

Eileen Janice Solomon, 75, of Manchester, CT, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2021. She was born on March 11, 1945 in Hartford, Connecticut to Betty and Herbert Garrity.

Eileen’s family moved to Manchester where she spent her childhood. She was a very talented artist, played the accordion, danced on Connecticut Bandstand, was an avid reader, found joy in caring for many pets/rescue animals and spent many summers on the beach at her Grandmother’s cottage.

At 18 Eileen started a family with her husband Michael Solomon. Besides being a loving mother, she also enjoyed raising and showing her dogs, belly dancing, knitting, crocheting and macramé. She eventually divorced and a few years later met Zachary Chaban who was her true love and partner for more than 30 years and his son Yosef who she loved like a son.

Eileen had long careers with American Linen Supply Co and AT&T. Once retired, Eileen and Zachary loved going to local casinos as well as Las Vegas and Atlantic City and also taking cruises together to several destinations. Eileen always looked forward to her annual spring trip to visit family in Florida. While there she indulged in shopping, local dining, theme parks, beaches and our annual girls’ day at the spa.

She leaves behind her children, Wendy Bissonnette, Robert Solomon, David Solomon and wife Becky, along with her beloved grandchildren, Andrew, Chelsea, Greggory, Jason, Christopher, Amber, Dylan, Haley, Abigale, Cassidy and Jacob. Eileen had one brother, her favorite sibling, Kenneth Garrity, his wife Cindy and their children Kelly, Brian and Heather.

Eileen was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cherished her family and friends above all. Eileen was laid to rest at Rosehill Memorial Park in Rocky Hill, CT alongside Zachary Chaban.
